Welcome to Caldwell, New York, where there is a war going on between vampires and their evil counterparts, the Lessers. Lessers are a group of soulless humans that are set on killing off all vampires. The Black Dagger Brotherhood is a group of warriors that have been fighting Lessers for hundreds of years. These warriors fight hard, party hard, and love even harder. They have finally found love and seem to be happy. While still fighting the Lessers, a new enemy has appeared, an enemy of their own kind. The Band of Bastards is this enemy. The Band of Bastards has gone so far as to try and kill the King, Wrath. The Band Of Bastards leader Xcor, is set on taking over as King of the Vampire world. A death sentence has been handed down for Xcor, and secrets are about to come to light that are going to change everyones' lives forever. The Scribe Virgin is about to reveal a secret so big that it will not only effect the Black Dagger Brotherhood but the Band Of Bastards as well.

Black Dagger Brotherhood
Wrath son of Wrath also known as the Blind King, is the King of the vampires and is the last pure blood vampire in existence. He is now fully blind but is the leader who originally was not willing to ascend the throne. That is until he fell in love; Now he rules over his race and although unable to see still is willing and able to kick ass and take names. With the support of his mate, his Brothers, and even the kindness of His servant, Fritz, Wrath ascended the throne and became the King of the entire vampire race. He fell in love with Beth Randall, the half-breed daughter of his Brother in arms, Darius. Wrath relies on a golden retriever named George to guide him at times, and the pup has become a partner-in-crime in the study. Some say he looks like Jason Momoa.
Rhage, son of Tohrture, is the strongest and most beautiful of the Brothers. Aptly nicknamed, "Hollywood" for his perfect looks, or "Hal E. Wood" when he first courts his now shellan. He was known for having the largest sexual appetite until he met Mary Madonna Luce, a human he fell in love with. Cursed by The Scribe Virgin, he is possessed with a dark creature known only as the Beast that makes him a danger to everyone including his brothers. The beast takes over Rhage during heated moments and destroys everything around it. The only one who can tame the beast is Mary, who gains respects amongst Rhage's brothers. Rhage also has a special soft spot for a delectable sweet, tootsie pops. He is known for crunching down on one in the most silent of moments, breaking tension. Some say he looks looks like Chris Hemsworth.
Zsadist, son of Aghony is the scarred, menacing Brother in the Brotherhood. Taken as an infant from his family, he was forced into blood slavery for many years by a Mistress who had him tattooed with slave bands. He was kept as a slave until his twin, Phury rescued him a century later. He was described as being "ruined, but not broken" by all. He was dangerous, with black onyx eyes and a insatiable appetite to kill lessers. Upon meeting his now shellan Bella, he attempted to keep her away so that his brother could have a beautiful mate. But during Bella's needing, things changed for the dangerous killer. He is now a husband and a Father to a daughter named Nalla. His eyes, once as black as death, have regained the same gold-yellow color as his twin's, reflecting the tremendous change in him. Some says he looks like Wentworth Miller.
Butch/Dhestroyer was the first male human to be allowed within the Brotherhood's life and home. After bringing Beth to Wrath one night during her transition it became clear he could handle himself among the Brothers without concern or worry of death. He became a close friend of Vishous', and later it was found he was a descendant of Wrath. This connection allowed him to be "turned" and he was then initiated in the Black Dagger Brother. A now former homicide detective, he was lovingly given the nickname "Cop" by the vampires. He also became the object of an ancient Lesser Prophecy that didn't quite turn out the way the Omega hoped, and now has the ability to sense lessers when they are close as well as absorb them; Which in turn he is only able to be healed by Vishous. Some say he looks like David Boreanaz . He is in love and mated to Marissa, the great beauty of their race and former shellan of Wrath.
Vishous son of The Bloodletter and The Scribe Virgin is the most intelligent of the Brothers. From working computers to learning several dozen different languages, he has an ability to not only protect those around him, but piss them off as well with his sarcastic intellect. Inherited from the Scribe Virgin is a glowing hand which has a very unique gift (Though he calls it a curse). It brings him an ability to prognosticate as well as a psychometry. What burns deep in him is the fact that he is able to see the deaths of all around him, though he does not know when the events will occur. He also heals Butch the Dhestroyer when necessary after fighting. His father tattooed V's face and genitals (which are scarred from a botched castration), but that doesn't stop him from gaining a sexual "Dominant" reputation with both his Brothers and ladies of the vampire race. Some say he looks like model David Gandy. He fell in love with a human surgeon, Dr. Jane Whitcomb.
✯Phury, son of Aghony, is Zsadist's twin brother and one time celibate who thought he could not truly live because of everything his biological brother has lost. Phury is incredibly loyal to his brother, even shooting off his own leg to save his twin. He is the Primale to the Chosen. Some say he looks like Brad Pitt. He eventually falls in love with the Chosen, Cormia✯.
Rehvenge is brother-in-law to Zsadist, half symphath, half vampire. He killed how mothers hellren to protect her and his sister Bella. He was black mailed for years by the queen of the sympath and his half sister. He is also a member of the vampire aristocracy and the "Princeps Leahdyre" of its council and now King of the Symphaths after the death of his uncle. He lives and fights with the brothers. Some say he looks like Randy Orton. He fell in love with Ehlena.
Tohrment took over leadership of the Brotherhood when Wrath became king. He was the steady and calm Brother, ever serious but with a kind heart, until a tragedy took the life of his Shellan, Wellsie and his unborn son. He disappears for almost a year. whereupon he is returned weak and emaciated to the Brotherhood by the fallen angel, Lassiter. In his youth his father disowned him and he was taken in by the Brother Darius in the old country. Both he and Darius saved the life of the female who would end up being Xhex's biological mother who he names Autumn. With Autumn's help he slowly starts to rebuild his life and lets to of his dead wife and unborn child along the way falling in love with Autumn. Some say he looks like Alex O'Loughlin.
John Matthew/Tehrror is the reincarnation of Darius. Born mute, John uses American Sign Language and whistling to communicate with others. Before learning that he was a pre-trans vampire, he lived alone in the human world. At one point, he was cornered in the hallway to his apartment and raped by an unknown human. In despair John turned to the suicide prevention network in Caldwell and met Mary Luce. during this meeting, Mary's neighbor, Bella, visited and sensed John was a vampire like her. Bella noticed a bracelet John wore which carried his name in the Old Language. The name of a Brother, Tehrror. Bella contacts the brotherhood and John learns what he is and that he will soon go through his transition to become an adult male vampire. He was also invited to live amongst his kind, at which time he lived with Tohrment and his expectant mate Wellisandra. Now that he has gone through his transition Wrath has made him join the war due to his unexplained proficiency with weapons and knowledge of Lessers. He is now Xhex's mated Hellren. He shares a kinship with Zsadist because of the traumatic similarities in their pasts. Some say he looks like John Cena.
Qhuinn son of no one, is best friends with Blaylock and John Matthew. He is hated by his parents because of his mismatched eyes, seen as defects to the vampire aristocracy. During training he came to the defense of John Matthew, nearly killing his cousin Lash when he pinned John to the wall, bringing back John's memories of being raped. In order to avoid being put to death he was dedicated as John Matthew's ahstrux nohtrum - his protector - and they work incredibly well together as a team. Currently he lives with John and the Brothers after his family disowned him. He is a playboy with commitment issues, preferring a steady stream of anonymous sex, but you also see that he really is in love with Blay. He however feels that if he gives in that he will never be able to leave him, and if that happens he will never be approved by the Glymera. Something he desperately wants even though he hates himself for it. Despite this he has proven himself a fierce warrior in the war against the Lessers. He is also about to have a child with the chosen Layla. Some say he looks like Alex Pettyfer.
Blaylock first met John Matthew at the training facility and quickly became John's first friend within his class. He is often referred to by his nickname, "Blay" and was the first of the three friends to go through his transition. He is now a soldier in the war against the Omega and the Lessening Society. It has been revealed that he is gay and is in love with Qhuinn, placing an increased strain on their friendship. Currently he lives with John and the Brothers. Blaylock had his first romantic/sexual encounter with another male, Saxton, who is a lawyer for the race as well as Qhuinn's cousin. No matter what thought Blaylock can't stop loving and wanting Qhuinn. Some say he looks like Liam Hemsworth.
Dr. Manuel "Manny" Manello was Chief of Surgery at St. Francis and was Jane Whitcomb's old boss and arguably her closest friend until her ‘death’. After Payne after suffers a paralyzing injury while sparring with Wrath, When Doc Jane realizes the damage is too great for her to repair, she goes looking for Manny, as he is a world renowned orthopedic Surgeon. He agrees to help Payne and soon falls in love with her. He also learns that is and Butch are half brothers which means is he is descended from Wrath also. He gives up his world to help Jane, The Brothers and most importantly to be with Payne. Some say he looks like Joe Manganiello.
Murhdur/EliahuRathboone Once a Brother is now a reclusive vampire who lives/pretends to be a ghost in a Civil War mansion/plantation located 20 miles outside of Charleston, South Carolina. He was once in a relationship with Xhex, but when he found out she was part symphath, he went insane & left the Brotherhood. Once believed dead, but now The Brothers know he is alive when he hears that they are in trouble and in need of help he comes back to face his past and to help his brothers if they will let him. Some say he looks like Ian Somerhalder.
Saxon son of Tyme is cousin to Qhuinn and not a brother. Saxon was the lawyer sent to a meeting with Wrath and Rehvenge after some of the Glymera made a thread on Wrath's life and didn't have the balls to show up and meet with them after the person how made the threat was assassinated. He came to live with the Blaylock and the Brothers after he was attacked after being out on a date with Blaylock. Now he is the lawyer for Wrath and in love with Blaylock but yet he knows that Blaylock's heart belongs to someone else and will never be his at least not truly. Some say he looks like Ryan Gosling.

The Females
Elizabeth "Beth" Randall is the only surviving offspring of the Black Dagger Brother Darius and an unknown human woman. Originally a journalist prior to her transition, she is Wrath's beloved shellan and the half-breed queen of the vampires. She also thinks that she is John's sister. Her close relationship with Butch allows him to be taken in by the brotherhood. She owns a cat named Boo who gets along with George, Wrath's dog, very well. Some say she looks like Mila Kunis.
Mary Madonna Luce is Rhage's human Shellan. Mary's leukemia was relapsing when she first meets Rhage. Her voice immediately attracts Rhage, and her acceptance of "the beast" side of Rhage makes her unique and fearless. All the Brothers fear the "beast", but it knows her and loves her as much as Rhage does. She is also a tutor and confidant of Zsadist; first teaching him to read and write and then helping him get over his fears about the Mistress and what Zsadist would tell his daughter once she grows up and inquires about his slave bands and scars. Some say she looks like Anne Hathaway.
Bella is a former aristocrat, Bella was Mary's neighbor until she unfortunately encounters the most deadly lesser in the Society, David. She is Rehvenge's younger sister and Zsadist's Shellan and salvation from his past. They have a daughter, Nalla whom for the first few months after her birth Zsadist avoids touching for fear of his past touching her. With the help of Mary the three finally become a family. Some say she looks like Sophia Bush.
Marissa is known as the great beauty of the species. She was for over 300 years initially the Shellan of Wrath, the vampire king. Their match however was a loveless one and ended when Wrath fell in love with Beth. She was attracted to Butch from the moment they met. Her brother Havers kicked her out of their house after knowing she harbored feelings for Butch, a human. He later is miraculously transformed into a vampire. She is now his Shellan and helps run "Safe Place", a safe-house for battered females. Some say she looks like Amber Head.
Dr. Jane Whitcomb is a brilliant Trauma surgeon who operated on Vishous when he was shot in the chest, Jane helped V overcome his conflicted feelings for Butch and also his troubled past. Jane was shot and killed by a lesser. Vishous attempts to bring Jane back using his blood and the heart of a lesser, but is stopped by his mother, the Scribe Virgin, who then turns Jane's body to ash. Vishous deeply mourns Jane. Mustering up her deeply buried maternal side, the Scribe Virgin sacrifices her love (her birds), in return for Vishous's (Jane). Jane returns to him in another form from which she can go from corporeal to non-corporeal at will, much like a ghost, though Vishous can freely touch her through his curse. She is the Brotherhood's private surgeon. Some say she looks like Charlize Theron.
Cormia was chosen as first mate to Phury the Primale. Cormia was friends with John before Phury finally decided to take action and respond to his feelings and claim her as his. She and Phury become "parents" to the rest of the Chosen when the Primale chose to mate with only Cormia. The Scribe Virgin allows the Chosen free-will to choose their mates and their futures under Phury's supervision. They later become real parents to the young, Ahgony or "Aggie" as they like to call him. Some say she looks like Chelan Simmons.
Ehlena is the love interest of Rehvenge, she works as a nurse at Haver's clinic until she's fired for giving Rehvenge non-prescribed antibiotics. At first she keeps her distance from the male but soon his pursuit of her changes her mind. When he destroys his life in Caldwell by brutally exposing his occupation and history to her, it rightly disgusts her. She leaves him. He then fakes his death and moves to the Symphath colony. Once she finds out that her lover is still alive there, she asks for help from Xhex and the Brotherhood to rescue him. She now works with Jane and the Brothers as their nurse and is Rehvenge's Shellan. Some say she looks like Amanda Schull.
Xhex is another half symphath who works for Rehv as a bodyguard/bouncer/co-manager at ZeroSum. She is close to Rehvenge and protects him with her life. She feels bad that he had to repay the Sympathy Princess over her screw-up twenty-five years ago. She is a very tough and hard-core female. She was once involved with the Brother Murhdur and feels tremendous guilt over his having gone insane. She was captured by Lash in the colony to replace his previous captive, the Sympath Princess. She is now John Matthew's shellan. Her full name was revealed to be "Xhexania," meaning "beloved one" in the Old Language; she was named by the Brother Darius. Some say she looks like Alexz Johnson.
Payne is Vishous' fraternal twin sister. She is the daughter of the Scribe Virgin and the warrior "The Bloodletter." Although a female, she's a warrior like her father and her brother. She was in a state of suspended animation in the chamber of the Scribe Virgin for a long time because the Scibe Virgin felt that she was too much like her father the "Bloodletter" and a danger to herself and every one she was around. However, when the Scribe Virgin grants the Chosen free-will she feels her daughter deserved the same and therefore wakes up Payne. However, due to her mother putting her in such a state in the first place, Payne bears nothing but hatred and resentment for her mother. This causing her to her self one day while sparing with Wrath. She then meet, Dr. Manuel "Manny" Manello who is brought in to help with her spinal break. They fall in love at first sight. Some say she looks like Jacqueline MacInnes Wood.
Autumn was a forsaken Chosen who named her self No'One when she served her sisters on the Other Side in the Scribe Virgin's sanctuary. She is described as having a prominent limp and is always clad in white robes which completely hide her body. She is friends with Payne and the Chosen Layla, and is revealed to be Xhex's birth mother Rosalhynda. She had committed suicide after Xhex was born as she couldn't live with the pain surrounding her child's conception, but was granted life anew so she could serve the Chosen as atonement. She has been appointed Payne's personal servant in the human world.She is named Autumn by Tohrment and is now his shellan. Some say she looks like Laura Vandervoort.
Layla is a chosen trained in the art of how to please a man. She how ever is not used for her training but is the favorite Chosen for all the Brotherhood who can't feed off their shellan to feed from. She is every innocent and naive about some things. Layla, Payne and Autumn are really good friends and Layla is also really close to Blaylock and Qhinn. Not having any thing of her own and wanting something of her own when she went through her needed she asked Qhuinn to help her and she is now carrying their child. She is very loyal to the brothers and was devastated when she learned she had been tricked into helping their enemy. This causing her to help Xhex find the gun used to shoot Wrath. She is a fighter and a very strong person even if she does not quite realize that yet. Some say she looks like Hayden Panettiere.
Elena is a chosen that was brought in to feed the brothers since Layla can't. She is beautiful, smart and funny. She is new to the brotherhood compound and is still learning her away around. She is close to Layla, Payne, and Autumn. She meets Trez on his first night in the house and is instantly drawn to him even thought she knows there is something different about about him. She wants to get to know him more. Some say she looks like Leila Arcieri

The Band Of Bastards
Xcor The leader of the Band Of Bastards and Originally thought he was the son of the Black Dagger Brother The Blood Letter. Only to learn it was a lie. He had no idea who his father his. But he is dead set on destroying Wrath King Of The Vampire Race and taking over. Some say he looks like Russell Crowe
Throe was is member of the vampire aristocracy. He turned him back on his family after the attack, rape and murder of his sister. He went to Xcor and asked him to avenge his sisters death. At repayment Throe joined the Band Of Bastards and is now Xcor's second in command. Some say he looks like Bradly Cooper.
Zypher is also a sex legend among the vampire race. He will fight to the death for the other members of the Band Of Bastards. He believes that there are two important things in life. Killing lessers and sex. He believe Some say he looks like Matthew McConaughey

The one with no name who has committed so may sins that he is referred to as Syn Thrown out as a baby not claimed my any one not even named at birth. Syn is angry with the world and has the right to be. Again could have been a brother of the black dagger brotherhood but yet because of how laws were written that could and did no happen. Wanting a place to belong and people that would except him he joined the Band Of Bastards. Some say he looks like Taylor Kinney.

Non-Temporal Beings
The Scribe Virgin is the vampire's deity, a mystical force and the creator of the vampire race. She acts as counselor to the king, keeper of the vampire archives, and dispenser of privileges. She exists in a non-temporal realm and possesses great powers. She is also the birth mother of Vishous and Payne, She has a great love for birds. Her true name is Analisse, Some say she looks like Rosie Huntington-Whiteley
Lassiter is a fallen angel who has taken to staying with the Brotherhood. He rescued Tohrment from death and now fights alongside the Brothers. Unlike them Lassiter displays a number of metrosexual characteristics (such as watching Oprah and Maury religiously). He has the ability to emit an otherworldly white light from his entire body, much like the Scribe Virgin (though a comparison between the two has not been made canonically). His background is hinted at and is the reason for the Brothers' initial hatred and distrust of him. When shot or cut he bleeds sliver and it smells like fresh cut roses. Some say he looks like Johnny Depp.
Friz Perlmuter is the head doggen for the Brothers and their Shellans. He was Doggen for Darius and after Darius died. He as asked to stay on. He runs the Brotherhood house hold and is a kind old man that watch out for everyone and seems to know all that is going on in the house with out being told. He loves to be needed and loves to take care of the brothers, their Shellans and the children. Some say he looks like Michael Caine.
The Omega is the Lessers' counterpart to the Scribe Virgin. He is a malevolent, mystical figure who has targeted the vampires for extinction out of resentment toward the Scribe Virgin for her ability to create life. It also exists in a non-temporal realm, Dhund (the vampiric equivalent of "Hell") and has extensive powers. The Omega is also the brother of the Scribe Virgin. He can also circumvent time and space to a certain extent, as he was able to impregnate a female vampire in order to sire a child. He is hinted to be gay and displays a fickle, unstable nature. Some say looks like James Marsters.
Lash is the half-vampire son of the Omega. After nearly being killed by his cousin, Qhuinn, for brutally assaulting John in a fight, Lash's true legacy was revealed to him by the Omega. He murdered his vampire parents and joined, though still somewhat confused, his true father to lead the Lessening Society. He began to transform into a creature similar to the Omega. Thought to be dead but is about to make a surprise return. Some say he looks like Tom Felton.
Trez Latimer is a prince of the S’Hisbe of Shadows Or Shadows as they are also called. One day he is suppose to become their king. Something Trez wants no part of. He was born to be king. Born to mate the Queen' Of the S'Hisbe of Shadows daughter. Trez can move about undetected by the Sympaths, can disappear, and have blue blood. He has slept with so many women he has lost count in hopes of offending the Queen of his raise so that he won't have to marry her daughter. He is not ready to give up the life that he has in Caldwell, NY, or his friends. He runs the Iron Mask and is thinking of opening a new club. He is best friends with Revenge. Who he use to work for. He and his twin brother IAm have moved with the Brothers to help them while there he met Selena a chosen and is instantly drawn to her. Some say he looks like Tyrese Gibson.
